Abflora Suspension is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. You may take this medicine along with oral rehydration solution (ORS) as it will help to provide adequate fluid and electrolyte replacement. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should take this medicine until your doctor tells you to stop. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.
Abflora Suspension is a probiotic. It works by restoring the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset after antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.
Bacillus clausii is an aerobic, spore-forming bacterium that is able to survive transit through the acidic environment of the stomach and colonize the intestine even in the presence of antibiotics (Duc et al 2004). B. clausii is available for oral use as a suspension of 2 billion spores per 5 mL.

Use with caution Below 3years: Contraindicated
Small trials have investigated use in preterm neonates to prevent infection, treatment of nasal allergies and upper respiratory infections in children, and treatment of acute or chronic diarrhea, small-intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), and adverse effects of Helicobacter pylori therapy in adults.

If you miss a dose of Abflora Suspension, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
