Accutaz PS 250mg/31.25mg Injection is a combination of two medicines: Ceftriaxone and Tazobactum. Ceftriaxone is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria.
Pharmacokinetics. Absorption: Ceftriaxone can be administered intravenously and intramuscularly, and the drug is completely absorbed. It is not available orally. Distribution: Ceftriaxone penetrates tissues and body fluids well, including cerebrospinal fluid to treat central nervous system infections,Within 30 min of infusion, piperacillin/tazobactam achieves 16-85% of plasma concentrations in skin, muscle, lung, gallbladder, and intestinal mucosa. Plasma and tissue levels remain above the MIC90s of major pathogens for 2 h post administration.

Accutaz PS 250mg/31.25mg Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Consuming alcohol with Accutaz PS 250mg/31.25mg Injection does not cause any harmful side effects.
Accutaz PS 250mg/31.25mg Injection should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.

Accutaz PS 250mg/31.25mg Injection belongs to a class of medication called 'antibiotics' used to treat several bacterial infections of the urinary tract, blood, bones and joints, heart, brain, chest, ears, skin or soft tissues. The bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grows in the body and cause infection.
Accutaz PS 250mg/31.25mg Injection may interact with certain tests such as glucose (sugar) in urine and coomb's test, giving unusual results. Therefore, inform the doctor that you are taking Accutaz PS 250mg/31.25mg Injection before undergoing any tests.

Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Taking probiotics along with Accutaz PS 250mg/31.25mg Injection may help. Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps.
Stop taking Accutaz PS 250mg/31.25mg Injection and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.

Usually, Accutaz PS 250mg/31.25mg Injection starts working soon after taking it. However, it may take some days to kill all the harmful bacteria and make you feel better.
