Acebid SP Tablet should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It may be taken with or without food, preferably at a fixed time. Avoid skipping any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Simply take the next dose as planned.
Acebid SP Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.
The pharmacokinetics of ciprofloxacin in healthy volunteers include a time to peak concentrations after oral dosage (tmax) of 1–1.5 h, oral availability of 0.5–0.7, protein binding of 0.2–0.3, volume of distribution (V) of 2–3 l kg−1, half-life (t1/2) of 3–4 h and fraction excreted unchanged in the urine of 0.4–0.6 [4].
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

If you are allergic to ciprofloxacin or any other ingredients of the Ciplox 500 tablet.
If you are using other quinolone medicines like moxifloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin or nalidixic acid.
If you are using tizanidine (a medicine used to treat muscle spasms).
Acebid SP Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Consuming alcohol with Acebid SP Tablet does not cause any harmful side effects.
Acebid SP Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Baby should be closely monitored for development of fever, loss of appetite and diarrhea. In case, any of the above happens please inform your doctor immediately.
Acebid SP Tablet is an antibiotic, used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is also used in treating infections of the urinary tract, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues and lungs (pneumonia). It cures the infection by killing and stopping the growth of the infectious microorganisms.

Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Acebid SP Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
Notify your doctor if you feel pain in your tendons, numbness, or tingling sensations.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.

Avoid Acebid SP Tablet with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.

Yes, the use of Acebid SP Tablet can cause diarrhea. It is an antibiotic which kills the harmful bacteria. However, it also affects the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. If you are experiencing severe diarrhea, talk to your doctor about it.
Q. Can I stop taking Acebid SP Tablet when I feel better?
No, do not stop taking Acebid SP Tablet and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
Q. Can the use of Acebid SP Tablet increase the risk of muscle damage?
Yes, use of Acebid SP Tablet is known to increase the risk of muscle damage, commonly in the ankle (achilies tendon). Muscle damage can happen in people of all ages who take Acebid SP Tablet. Inform your doctor if you feel any kind of muscle pain while using this medicine.
Q. Can I take Acebid SP Tablet with paracetamol?
Acebid SP Tablet is not known to have any clinically meaningful interaction with paracetamol. However, interactions can occur. Talk to your doctor before using both the medicines together.
