Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Acnedap Plus gel works by the combined action of both its components: Adapalene and Dapsone. Adapalene works by decreasing the swelling, redness of the skin, thus reducing pimples. Benzoyl Peroxide works by killing the bacteria that cause acne (or pimple).

Pharmacokinets

The elimination half-life of dapsone is about 30 hours. The drug shows linear pharmacokinetics within the therapeutic range and the time-course after oral administration fits a 2-compartment model. The concentration-time profile of dapsone after parenteral administration is reviewed.

Pharmacokinetics: Absorption of adapalene from DIFFERIN Gel, 0.3% through human skin is low. In a pharmacokinetics study, 16 acne patients were treated once daily for 10 days with 2 grams of DIFFERIN Gel, 0.3% applied to the face, chest and back, corresponding to approximately 2 mg/cm2.
