Acnewar Plus Gel is a combination medicine that is used to treats acne. It minimizes excessive oil production, thus reduces inflammation. It also prevents the growth of the microorganisms that cause acne. This also helps to prevent pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads on the skin.


Acnewar Plus Gel is only meant for external use and should be used as advised by your doctor. A thin layer of the medicine should be applied only to the affected areas of the skin with clean and dry hands. Wash your hands before and after applying the medicine. If it gets into your eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina rinse with water. It may take several days to weeks for your symptoms to improve, but you should keep using this medicine regularly. The course of the treatment should be completed to ensure better efficacy of the medicine. If your condition does not improve or gets worse, you should talk to your doctor.


This is usually a safe medicine, however, it may cause dryness, peeling, redness, and burning sensation at the application site. These side effects are usually mild and self-limiting. Most of these side effects can be prevented by using a skin moisturizer and drinking plenty of water. Serious side effects are rare. You must consult the doctor if you experience any allergic reaction (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.).

Mechanism Of Action

Adapalene in small concentrations is a moderator of cellular differentiation, keratinization, and inflammatory processes. The exact mode of action of adapalene is unknown. Adapalene, a derivative of naphthoic acid, has comedolytic, antiproliferative, and anti-inflammatory properties

Pharmacokinets

The elimination half-life of dapsone is about 30 hours. The drug shows linear pharmacokinetics within the therapeutic range and the time-course after oral administration fits a 2-compartment model. The concentration-time profile of dapsone after parenteral administration is reviewed

Pharmacokinetic studies have demonstrated that only trace amounts of adapalene are systemically absorbed and are excreted through the hepatobiliary route. There have been no reported carcinogenic, mutagenic, or genotoxic effects of topical adapalene in either in vivo or in vitro studies.

Contra Indications

Relative contraindications to the use of dapsone include allergy to sulfonamide antimicrobials, significant cardiopulmonary disease, significant liver or renal function impairment, or pre-existing peripheral neuropathy

Contraindications include a history of hypersensitivity to adapalene or any excipients used in the product or other retinoids. According to product labeling, relative contraindications include pregnancy, photosensitive disorder, eczema, sunburn, or concomitant use of other potentially irritating skincare products

Indications

Dapsone is indicated for a variety of conditions, both dermatologic and non-dermatologic. The FDA-approved indications are leprosy and dermatitis herpetiformis.
