Acugesic T 500 mg/37.5 mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. The dose and duration will depend on what you are taking it for and how well it helps your symptoms. You should keep taking the medicine even if you feel better until the doctor says it is alright to stop using it. Using this medicine may cause few common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, weakness, and dryness in the mouth. If you experience any such side effects that do not go away or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the symptoms. In general, you should try to use the smallest amount necessary to control your symptoms.
Acugesic T 500 mg/37.5 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Paracetamol/Acetaminophen and Tramadol. Paracetamol/Acetaminophen is an analgesic (pain reliever) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain.
Paracetamol is readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract with peak plasma concentrations occurring about 30 minutes to 2 hours after ingestion. It is metabolised in the liver (90-95%) and excreted in the urine mainly as the glucuronide and sulphate conjugates. Less than 5% is excreted as unchanged paracetamol.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Acugesic T 500 mg/37.5 mg Tablet.

Acugesic T 500 mg/37.5 mg Tablet is a pain-relieving medicine. It is used in various conditions such as muscle ache, back pain, joint pain, menstrual cramps, and toothache.
Tramadol should not be used in combination with MAO inhibitors or serotonin-precursors (such as L-tryptophan, oxitriptan) and should be used with caution in combination with other serotonergic drugs (triptans, certain tricyclic antidepressants, lithium, St. John's Wort) due to the risk of serotonin syndrome.
Otherwise, no serious adverse drug interactions with therapeutic doses of paracetamol have been confirmed in humans. Because the absorption of paracetamol is so dependent on gastric emptying, other drugs that alter gastric emptying can change its pharmacokinetics; but this would not cause serious adverse effects.
Do not chew, crush or break it. Acugesic T 500 mg/37.5 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

If you miss a dose of Acugesic T 500 mg/37.5 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Use only for severe acute pain for not more than 5 days.
Prolonged use may result in physical and psychological dependence even at recommended dosages.
It causes sleepiness or drowsiness. If this happens to you, do not drive or use machinery.

Exercise regularly by engaging in activities like swimming, jogging or take a short walk. Talk to your doctor about taking some medicines to treat constipation if this persists for a long time.

Yes, the use of Acugesic T 500 mg/37.5 mg Tablet can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for some time and resume once you feel better. Do not drive or use any machines.

Yes, the use of Acugesic T 500 mg/37.5 mg Tablet can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water on the bedside at night. You may use some lip balm if your lips are also dry.
