Aggrilek Infusion (100ml)


Aggrilek Infusion is administered under the supervision of a doctor. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the medicine for you. You should continue all your other medicines that are advised by the doctor for your long term treatment even after this injection. This medicine is used with caution for some people. Before taking it, you must inform the doctor if you are suffering from any bleeding disorder, kidney, or liver disease. Also, let your doctor know if you are breastfeeding and about all the other medications that you are taking regularly.

Mechanism Of Action

It works by preventing the platelets from sticking together, thereby decreasing the formation of harmful blood clots. This lowers the chance of heart attack or stroke.

Pharmacokinets

Tirofiban is administered as an intravenous infusion. Volume of distribution ranges from 21 to 87 L, and binding to human plasma proteins is modest at 64%. Metabolism in humans is negligible, and most drug is excreted renally with systemic clearance ranging from 4.8 to 25.8 L/h.

Contra Indications

Tirofiban is contraindicated in patients with any of the following: acute pericarditis, intracranial aneurysm, intracranial mass, arteriovenous malformation, any coagulopathy or history of bleeding diathesis within 30 days, severe uncontrolled hypertension (SBP > 180 mmHg and/or DBP > 110 mmHg), recent (within 6 weeks).

Pregnancy Related Information

Aggrilek Infusion is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast Feeding Related Information

Aggrilek Infusion should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.


Indications

Tirofiban is indicated for the prevention of early myocardial infarction in adult patients presenting with acute coronary syndromes without ST elevation (NSTE-ACS)with the last episode of chest pain occurring within 12 hours and with ECG changes and/or elevated cardiac enzymes.
