Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Albrim Lst Eye Drop is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of pressure in the eyes (ocular hypertension) and glaucoma. It works by decreasing the pressure of fluid in the eye (aqueous humor), which helps in lowering the increased eye pressure.

Pharmacokinets

Pharmacokinetics: After ocular administration of either a 0.1% or 0.2% solution, plasma concentrations peaked within 0.5 to 2.5 hours and declined with a systemic half-life of approximately 2 hours. In humans, systemic metabolism of brimonidine is extensive. It is metabolized primarily by the liver.

Timolol and its metabolites are mainly found excreted in the urine. Timolol half-life was measured at 2.9 ± 0.3 h hours in a clinical study of healthy volunteers. One pharmacokinetic study in healthy volunteers measured the total plasma clearance of timolol to be 557 ± 61 ml/min.
