Alburel 20gm Solution for Infusion must be administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional. You should not take it if you have any known allergies to this injection. Before taking it, inform the doctor you are suffering from any severe heart disease.
Medicinal albumin is made of plasma proteins from human blood. This medicine works by increasing plasma volume or levels of albumin in the blood. Albumin is used to replace blood volume loss resulting from trauma such as a severe burns or an injury that causes blood loss.
ALBUMIN (al BYOO min) is used to treat or prevent shock following serious injury, bleeding, surgery, or burns by increasing the volume of blood plasma. This medicine can also replace low blood protein. This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Fluid resuscitation (should not be used as first line treatment – use crystalloids first)
Significant hypoalbuminemia.
Nephrotic syndrome.

Albumin should not be diluted with sterile water because this can cause hemolysis. Do not mix with protein hydrolysates or solutions containing alcohol since these combinations can cause the proteins to precipitate.

Before you are given this medicine, you need to inform your doctor if you are allergic to albumin preparations or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Suspicion of allergic or anaphylactic type reactions requires an immediate stop of the infusion.
Q. What vitals should be monitored before giving Alburel 20gm Solution for Infusion
Before giving this injection, your doctor or nurse will measure your blood pressure, heart rate and conduct blood tests to make sure you are not given an excess dose. If you experience a headache, difficulty in breathing, or increased blood pressure, inform your doctor immediately.
Q. How is Alburel 20gm Solution for Infusion given?
This medicine must be administered intravenously at a rate not to exceed 1 mL/min to patients with normal blood volume, due to the risk of developing circulatory overload and pulmonary edema (excess fluid in lungs).
