Aldex 6mg Tablet SR should be taken with or without food. Take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. In case, you missed any doses, take the next dose as soon as you remember it. However, you should never take a double dose. Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have glaucoma or have any gastro-related issues or have asthma. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, or breastfeeding. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Generally, it is advised to avoid alcohol while on treatment.
Aldex 6mg Tablet SR is used to treat many different inflammatory and allergic conditions. It helps treat runny nose, sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. It works by lowering your immune system's response to these conditions and prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.
Dexchlorpheniramine maleate is a first generation antihistamine used to treat allergic and vasomotor rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and mild urticaria and angioedema. Dexchlorpheniramine is the S-enantiomer of chlorpheniramine which is a 1st generation anti-histamine.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

overactive thyroid gland.
increased pressure in the eye.
closed angle glaucoma.
high blood pressure.
stenosing peptic ulcer.
blockage of the urinary bladder.
enlarged prostate.
an inability to completely empty the bladder.
Aldex 6mg Tablet SR is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Aldex 6mg Tablet SR may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Aldex 6mg Tablet SR is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Larger doses or prolonged use of Aldex 6mg Tablet SR may cause sleepiness and other effects in the baby
DEXCHLORPHENIRAMINE (dex klor fen EER a meen) is an antihistamine. It is used to treat itching and runny nose from allergies or a cold. It is also used to treat skin rash, hives, itching, and other symptoms of an allergic reaction. This medicine will not treat an infection.
Do not take dexchlorpheniramine if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) in the last 14 days. A very dangerous drug interaction could occur, leading to serious side effects.
Do not chew, crush or break it. Aldex 6mg Tablet SR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Aldex 6mg Tablet SR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Consult a doctor before taking any medicines.
Avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery as it may decrease alertness.
Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Aldex 6mg Tablet SR, as it may cause excessive sleepiness or drowsiness.
Aldex 6mg Tablet SR should not be used in children less than 12 years of age.
Patients with other underlying medical conditions must consult their doctor before taking Aldex 6mg Tablet SR.
Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should not take this medicine unless prescribed by a doctor.
Aldex 6mg Tablet SR should not be taken by patients taking Monoamine oxidase inhibitors, such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, etc.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Aldex 6mg Tablet SR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
