Aldezol 400mg Tablet helps prevent an infection after surgery. It is also used in the treatment of dental infections, leg ulcers, and pressure sores. This medicine is best taken after eating some food. It should be taken at the same time each day to get the most benefit. The amount you are advised will depend on what you are being treated for and how bad it is, but you should take this antibiotic exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your symptoms may get better after a short time but do not stop taking it until you have finished a full course of treatment, even if you feel well. If you stop taking it early, some bacteria may survive, and the infection may come back. Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine and for a few days after stopping it. Otherwise, you may get unpleasant side effects like nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain.
Aldezol 400mg Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat many parasitic infections such as amoebic dysentery. It works by stopping the growth of parasites causing the infection. This medicine usually makes you feel better quite quickly.
The majority of metronidazole and its metabolites are excreted in urine and faeces, with less than 12% excreted unchanged in urine. The pharmacokinetics of metronidazole are unaffected by acute or chronic renal failure, haemodialysis, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, age, pregnancy or enteric disease.

Consuming alcohol while taking Aldezol 400mg Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
Aldezol 400mg Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
If a single dose of Aldezol 400mg Tablet is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.

Q. Can I drink alcohol while using Aldezol 400mg Tablet?
No, avoid drinking alcohol while taking Aldezol 400mg Tablet. Moreover, you should avoid alcohol even after 3 days of finishing the complete course. Drinking alcohol can cause an unpleasant reaction (disulfiram like reaction) with symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, flushing or redness of the face.

Yes, Aldezol 400mg Tablet may cause a temporary metallic taste. This metallic taste can be reduced by staying hydrated, brushing teeth after the meals and chewing sugar-free gum or mints.
Q. What if I take more than the recommended dose of Aldezol 400mg Tablet?
If you have taken Aldezol 400mg Tablet in excess (more than the recommended dose), immediately contact your doctor or report to the nearest hospital. Overdose of Aldezol 400mg Tablet may cause loss of appetite, metallic taste, headache, dizziness, insomnia or drowsiness.
Q. Can I stop taking Aldezol 400mg Tablet when I feel better?
No, do not stop taking Aldezol 400mg Tablet and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured. Hence, if you stop taking the medicine before completing the course, your infection may come back. Consult your doctor before you stop taking Aldezol 400mg Tablet and follow their advice.
