Aldonil Plus Tablet SR may be taken with or without food, but you should try to take it at the same time every day. The dose will be decided by your doctor. Do not stop taking it without asking your doctor. If you do, your blood sugar levels may increase and put you at risk of serious complications like kidney damage and blindness. This medicine is only part of a treatment program that should include a healthy diet, regular exercise, and weight reduction as advised by your doctor. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems or a urinary tract infection or if you are on water pills (diuretics). Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Avoid excessive alcohol intake while taking it as this may increase the risk of developing some side effects. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly while taking this medicine.
Aldonil Plus Tablet SR is a medicine used in the treatment of diabetic nerve disease. It protect the nerve fibers from damage and promotes regeneration of nerve cells. It is used along with other blood sugar lowering medications in order to prevent further nerve injury.
Pharmacokinetics. Methylcobalamin can be administered orally, parenterally and intranasal. Methylcobalamin binds with an intrinsic factor and form a complex which is absorbed in distal ileum. Its half life is 6 days.

Medicinal Benefits. EPALRESTAT+METHYLCOBALAMIN is a combination of two drugs, namely: Epalrestat and Methylcobalamin. EPALRESTAT+METHYLCOBALAMIN is indicated for the management of diabetic neuropathy. Epalrestat works by inhibiting the aldose reductase enzyme, which catalyses the conversion of glucose to sorbitol.
Drug-Drug Interactions: EPALRESTAT+METHYLCOBALAMIN may have interactions with antibiotic (chloramphenicol), anti-diabetic (metformin). Drug-Food Interactions: No interactions found/established. Drug-Disease Interaction: EPALRESTAT+METHYLCOBALAMIN might have interaction with severe liver and kidney dysfunction.
