Alerdain A 5 mg/75 mg Tablet SR is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.
Alerdain A 5 mg/75 mg Tablet SR gives relief from cough by loosening thick mucus and making it easier to cough it out. It also makes it easier for air to move in and out of your airways. This reduces the frequency of coughing and makes you feel better.
Levocetirizine exhibited linear pharmacokinetics over the therapeutic dose range in adult healthy subjects. Levocetirizine is rapidly and extensively absorbed following oral administration. In adults, peak plasma concentrations are achieved 0.9 hour after administration of the oral tablet.
Bioavailability of ambroxol administered orally is approximately 70–80%. The distribution half-life of ambroxol is 1.3 hours, metabolite is dibromoanthranilic acid (activity unspecified) and Elimination of ambroxol is biphasic, with an alpha half-life of 1.3 hours and a beta half-life of 8.8 hours.

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid consuming certain fruit juices such as orange, apple, and grapefruit with Alerdain A 5 mg/75 mg Tablet SR as it may reduce the effectiveness of Alerdain A 5 mg/75 mg Tablet SR. Also, avoid intake of alcohol with Alerdain A 5 mg/75 mg Tablet SR
as it may increase drowsiness.
Do not chew, crush or break it. Alerdain A 5 mg/75 mg Tablet SR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Alerdain A 5 mg/75 mg Tablet SR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Drink extra fluids to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication.
Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Alerdain A 5 mg/75 mg Tablet SR can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine as it may cause increased sleepiness.
Stop taking Alerdain A 5 mg/75 mg Tablet SR at least three days before taking an allergy test as it can affect the test results.
Inform your doctor if your cough persists for more than 14 days.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alerdain A 5 mg/75 mg Tablet SR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
