Alertus Syrup 60 ml contains Chlorpheniramine maleate and Phenylephrine. Chlorpheniramine maleate blocks histamine in the body, which is known to cause allergic symptoms. Phenylephrine helps in shrinking the blood vessels in the nasal passage, thereby reducing the stuffy nose.
Levocetirizine exhibited linear pharmacokinetics over the therapeutic dose range in adult healthy subjects. Levocetirizine is rapidly and extensively absorbed following oral administration. In adults, peak plasma concentrations are achieved 0.9 hour after administration of the oral tablet.
AUC(0-24h) was noted 8.1% (1.9 - 14.3%) higher after zinc was given as zinc gluconate when compared to zinc oxide (p < 0.05) whereas t(max) did not differ between both treatment conditions. Conclusions: Zinc absorption in humans could be improved by zinc complexation with gluconate.
