Almazine 1mg Tablet relieves symptoms of anxiety such as nervousness, rapid breathing, increased heart rate, excessive sweating, trembling, weakness or lack of concentration. It may be taken with or without food. However, take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor as it has a high potential of habit-forming.
Almazine 1mg Tablet is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
The clinical pharmacokinetics of lorazepam, a 3-hydroxy, 1,4-benzodiazepine, indicate that it is rapidly and readily absorbed, reaching peak concentrations in the blood proportional to the dose approximately 2 hours after oral administration.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Lorazepam is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines or to any components of the formulation, in acute narrow-angle glaucoma, pre-existing CNS depression, coma, acute pulmonary insufficiency or sleep apnea.
Almazine 1mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Almazine 1mg Tablet.
Almazine 1mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Almazine 1mg Tablet should be used for short periods and sleepiness of the baby should be watched. The withdrawal of Almazine 1mg Tablet should be gradual.

If you miss a dose of Almazine 1mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

It can also cause panic attacks, dizziness or feeling faint, memory loss, hallucinations, feeling stiff and unable to move easily, feeling very warm, convulsions (sudden uncontrolled shaking or jerking of the body) and oversensitivity to light, sound and touch.
