Almefkem Forte 500mg/450mg Tablet is to be taken with food. This will prevent you from getting an upset stomach. The dose will depend on what you are taking it for and how well it helps your symptoms. You should take it as advised by your doctor. Do not take more or use it for a longer duration than recommended by the doctor.
Almefkem Forte 500mg/450mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Mefenamic Acid and Paracetamol. It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause fever, pain and inflammation (redness and swelling)
Elimination. Mefenamic acid is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzyme CYP2C9 to 3-hydroxymethyl mefenamic acid (Metabolite I). Further oxidation to a 3-carboxymefenamic acid (Metabolite II) may occur. The activity of these metabolites has not been studied. Paracetamol is readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract with peak plasma concentrations occurring about 30 minutes to 2 hours after ingestion. It is metabolised in the liver (90-95%) and excreted in the urine mainly as the glucuronide and sulphate conjugates. Less than 5% is excreted as unchanged paracetamol.

It is effective in relieving pain caused by headache, migraine, nerve pain, toothache, sore throat, period (menstrual) pains, arthritis and muscle aches.
MEFENAMIC ACID+PARACETAMOL can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart surgery, do not take MEFENAMIC ACID+PARACETAMOL. MEFENAMIC ACID+PARACETAMOL increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding.
Do not chew, crush or break it. Almefkem Forte 500mg/450mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Almefkem Forte 500mg/450mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

In the case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small and frequent sips. Talk to the doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicine without speaking to your doctor.

The use of Almefkem Forte 500mg/450mg Tablet is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to any of the components or excipients of this medicine or in patients with known allergy to other painkillers (NSAIDs). The use of this medicine should preferably be avoided in patients with a history of stomach ulcer or in patients with active, recurrent stomach ulcer/bleeding. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease.

Yes, Almefkem Forte 500mg/450mg Tablet can be taken with Vitamin B-complex preparations. While Almefkem Forte 500mg/450mg Tablet helps to relieve pain, Vitamin B-complex can help correct the vitamin deficiency that might be causing the underlying painful condition.

Yes, the long-term use of Almefkem Forte 500mg/450mg Tablet can cause damage to the kidneys. Normal kidneys produce a chemical called prostaglandins that protect the kidneys from damage. Use of painkillers lower the levels of prostaglandins in the body which leads to kidney damage on long-term use. Use of painkillers is not recommended to patients with underlying kidney disease.
