Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Alorex Cream helps in the prevention and treatment of infections in patients with burns. It kills infectious microorganisms and reduces pain and discomfort in the affected area. This promotes quick healing of the burns. Apply to the affected areas one or two times a day.

Pharmacokinets

Pharmacokinetics. Pharmacokinetic studies with Chlorhexidine gluconate oral rinse indicate approximately 30% of the active ingredient, Chlorhexidine gluconate, is retained in the oral cavity following rinsing. This retained drug is slowly released in the oral fluids.

Pharmacokinetics. The chemical is poorly soluble, and has only very limited penetration through intact skin. However, contact with body fluids produces free sulfadiazine which can then be systemically absorbed and distributed; it undergoes glucuronidation in the liver and is also excreted unaltered in urine.

Side Effects

Application site reactions (burning, irritation, itching and redness).

Pregnancy Related Information

Alorex Cream may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
