Altime D 20mg/5ml Suspension can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. The dose may depend on your age and the present medical condition. Take it for as long as it is prescribed. Inform your doctor if symptoms do not get improved within 7 days of the treatment.
Levocloperastine acts on the cough centre in the brain, thus reducing their activity by suppressing the cough.
The pharmacokinetics of levocloperastine are linear over a wide range of doses in the rat (10 to 30 mg/kg) and in the dog (25 to 75 mg/kg), with dose-dependent increases of Cmax andAUCandwithout concomitant changes in elimination half-life.

LEVOCLOPERASTINE FENDIZOATE is generally prescribed for short term treatment of dry cough. It is also used to treat chronic cough or coughs caused due to smoking, emphysema and asthma. Take LEVOCLOPERASTINE FENDIZOATE as prescribed by your doctor.
Drug-Drug Interactions: LEVOCLOPERASTINE FENDIZOATE may interact with antidepressant medicines (fluoxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine), medicines used for mental alertness (armodafinil, atomoxetine, amphetamines). Drug-Food Interaction: No interactions found.

If you miss a dose of Altime D 20mg/5ml Suspension, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

You have been prescribed Altime D 20mg/5ml Suspension for the symptomatic relief of dry cough.
It is usually taken for a short time, until the symptoms clear up.
Measure the syrup with a special dose-measuring spoon or cup, not a regular table spoon.
Drink extra fluids to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication.
It should not be administered to patients with chronic cough or where cough is accompanied by excessive secretions.
Inform your doctor if your cough lasts more than 7 days, comes back, or occurs with fever, rash or headache. These could be signs of a serious condition.
