Altraz Tablet belong to a class of drug called aromatase inhibitors, which decreases the amount of estrogen in the body. It should be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time every day to get the most benefit. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.
ALTRAZ TABLET works by blocking the aromatase enzyme, which is involved in producing the estrogen hormone. The cancer cells require estrogen for their growth. Hence, blocking the aromatase enzyme, ALTRAZ TABLET prevents the growth of cancer cells.
The major circulating metabolite of anastrozole, triazole, lacks pharmacologic activity. The pharmacokinetic parameters are similar in patients and in healthy postmenopausal volunteers. The pharmacokinetics of anastrozole are linear over the dose range of 1 to 20 mg and do not change with repeated dosing.
