Ambril Plus Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.
Ambril Plus Syrup gives relief from cough with mucus. It helps to loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. This makes breathing easy and reduces the frequency of coughing. Ambril Plus Syrup will also relieve allergy symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose or throat irritation.
Bioavailability of ambroxol administered orally is approximately 70–80%. The distribution half-life of ambroxol is 1.3 hours, metabolite is dibromoanthranilic acid (activity unspecified) and Elimination of ambroxol is biphasic, with an alpha half-life of 1.3 hours and a beta half-life of 8.8 hours.
Levosalbutamol elicits an equal or slightly larger response than an equivalent dose of the racemic mixture. This is probably due to competitive inhibition between the enantiomers at beta-adrenoceptors. Pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic relationships for levosalbutamol show relatively large interindividual variations.
Guaifenesin is administered orally. The plasma half-life is approximately 1 hour. Guiafenesin is rapidly hydrolyzed (60% within seven hours) and then excreted in the urine, with beta-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-lactic acid as its major urinary metabolite. No unchanged drug was detected in the urine following administration.

Ambril Plus Syrup is used for treating various respiratory tract disorders associated with excessive mucus. It works by thinning and loosens mucus in the nose, windpipe, and lungs and make it easier to cough out.
Drug-Drug Interaction: AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL may have interaction with antibiotics (erythromycin, doxycycline, cefuroxime, amoxicillin), water pills (furosemide), bronchodilators (albuterol, formoterol, vilanterol), anti-sickness drug (ondansetron), steroids (prednisone, budesonide).

If you miss a dose of Ambril Plus Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Q. What is Ambril Plus Syrup?
Ambril Plus Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol / Levalbuterol, Guaifenesin. It is used in the treatment of cough with mucus. Ambroxol is a mucolytic. It thins and loosens the mucus (phlegm) which makes it easier to cough out. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator and it works by relaxing the muscles of the airways and widens the airways. Guaifenesin is an expectorant. It works by decreasing the stickiness of the mucus (phlegm) and helps to remove it easily from the airways.

Yes, it is safe to use Ambril Plus Syrup in most of the patients. However, in some patients it may cause common side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, allergic reaction, dizziness, headache, rash, urticaria, tremor, palpitations, muscle cramp and increased heart rate. Inform your doctor if you experience any persistent problem while taking this medicine.

Use of Ambril Plus Syrup is considered to be harmful in patients with a history of allergy to any of the active or inactive ingredients. Levosalbutamol and beta-blockers like propranolol should not usually be taken together.
Q. Can the use of Ambril Plus Syrup cause dizziness?
Yes, the use of Ambril Plus Syrup can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for sometime and resume once you feel better. Do not drive or use any machines.
Q. Can the use of Ambril Plus Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, the use of Ambril Plus Syrup can cause diarrhea. In case you experience diarrhea, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Talk to your doctor if diarrhea persists and you notice any signs of dehydration, like less urination with dark colored and strong-smelling urine. Do not take any other medicine without consulting your doctor.
