Ambril Syrup should be taken with food. For better results, it is suggested to take it at the same time every day. The dose and how often you take it depend on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. It is advised not to use it for more than 14 days without your doctor's consultation. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease or if you have stomach problems. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. You must take a doctor's advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
It works by thinning and loosens mucus in the nose, windpipe, and lungs and make it easier to cough out.
Bioavailability of ambroxol administered orally is approximately 70–80%. The distribution half-life of ambroxol is 1.3 hours, metabolite is dibromoanthranilic acid (activity unspecified) and Elimination of ambroxol is biphasic, with an alpha half-life of 1.3 hours and a beta half-life of 8.8 hours.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Ritonavir The serum concentration of Ambroxol can be increased when it is combined with Ritonavir.
Saquinavir The metabolism of Ambroxol can be decreased when combined with Saquinavir.

If you miss a dose of Ambril Syrup, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
