Amibex TZ 400mg/600mg Tablet is a prescription medicine that can be taken with or without food. Take the medicine in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The treatment must be completed even if you feel better. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult with doctors before taking it. Avoid drinking alcohol as it can cause excessive dizziness with this medicine. In cases of severe liver or kidney disease, it is advised to consult your doctor before you start with the treatment. It is strictly advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery while you are on the treatment.
Amibex TZ 400mg/600mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Norfloxacin and Tinidazole. This medication is used to treat diarrhea and dysentry caused due to infection. They work by killing the harmful microorganisms that cause infection. Together they help to treat infection more effectively.
Pharmacokinetics. “Absorption of norfloxacin is rapid following single doses of 200 mg, 400 mg and 800 mg. At the respective doses, mean peak serum and plasma concentrations of 0.8, 1.5 and 2.4 μg/mL are attained approximately one hour after dosing.
Tinidazole is excreted by the liver and the kidneys. Tinidazole is excreted in the urine mainly as unchanged drug (approximately 20-25% of the administered dose). Approximately 12% of the drug is excreted in the feces. The elimination half-life is 13.2±1.4 hours and the plasma half-life is 12 to 14 hours.

Norfloxacin is contraindicated in persons with a history of hypersensitivity, tendinitis, or tendon rupture associated with the use of norfloxacin or any member of the quinolone group of antimicrobial agents.
Contraindicated in patients with a prior history of hypersensitivity to tinidazole or other nitroimidazole derivatives and during the first trimester of pregnancy. Use with caution and reduce dose in severe hepatic Impairment.

Consuming alcohol while taking Amibex TZ 400mg/600mg Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
Amibex TZ 400mg/600mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Drug-Drug Interactions: LACTOBACILLUS+NORFLOXACIN+TINIDAZOLE may have interaction with pain killers (aspirin, ibuprofen), anti-coagulant/blood thinner (warfarin), anti-gout (probenecid), antibiotic (azithromycin, sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim, metronidazole, nitrofurantoin, erythromycin), and calcium supplements

If you miss a dose of Amibex TZ 400mg/600mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Diarrhea can cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids to help rehydrate you.
Consult your doctor if your diarrhea lasts for more than 48 hours.
Do not use Amibex TZ 400mg/600mg Tablet if you have blood in your stool or if you are severely constipated.
It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you.
Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Amibex TZ 400mg/600mg Tablet as it may irritate your stomach and also cause excessive drowsiness.
Notify your doctor if you feel pain in your tendons, numbness, or tingling sensations.

This may indicate that you have a tendon rupture.
