Amlod L 5 mg/5 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and lisinopril which lower blood pressure effectively. It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.
Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist drug with distinctive pharmacokinetic characteristics which appear to be attributable to a high degree of ionisation. Following oral administration, bioavailability is 60 to 65% and plasma concentrations rise gradually to peak 6 to 8h after administration.
The angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, lisinopril, has an oral bioavailability of 25 percent +/- 4 percent, which is unaffected by food. The accumulation half-life averages 12.6 hours despite a terminal serum half-life of approximately 40 hours.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
