You can take Amlokath L 5 mg/5 mg Tablet at any time of day, with or without food, but it is best to take it at the same time each day. Keep taking it for as long as advised by your doctor. Even if you feel well, do not stop this medicine on your own because high blood pressure often has no symptoms. If you stop taking it, your condition may get worse. Keeping active with regular exercise, reducing your weight and eating a healthy diet will also help control your blood pressure. Follow your doctor’s advice while taking this medicine.
Amlokind-L Tablet contains two medicines, both of which help to control high blood pressure. It lowers the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and making it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body. This will reduce your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke.
Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist drug with distinctive pharmacokinetic characteristics which appear to be attributable to a high degree of ionisation. Following oral administration, bioavailability is 60 to 65% and plasma concentrations rise gradually to peak 6 to 8h after administration.
The angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, lisinopril, has an oral bioavailability of 25 percent +/- 4 percent, which is unaffected by food. The accumulation half-life averages 12.6 hours despite a terminal serum half-life of approximately 40 hours.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Amlodipine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to amlodipine or its dosage form components. In addition, amlodipine is relatively contraindicated in patients with cardiogenic shock, severe aortic stenosis, unstable angina, severe hypotension, heart failure, and hepatic impairment.
Lisinopril is contraindicated in patients with hyperkalemia, a history of angioedema, renal failure with prior lisinopril use, bilateral renal artery stenosis, concomitant use with aliskiren in patients with diabetes mellitus, and during coadministration with a neprilysin inhibitor or within 36 hours of taking one.
Amlokath L 5 mg/5 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Amlokath L 5 mg/5 mg Tablet.
Amlokath L 5 mg/5 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Amlodipine+Lisinopril is used in the treatment of Hypertension (high blood pressure). Amlodipine + Lisinopril is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and lisinopril which lower blood pressure effectively.
Drug-Drug Interactions: AMLODIPINE+LISINOPRIL may interact with drugs reducing cholesterol (simvastatin), corticosteroids (prednisolone), painkillers (ibuprofen, naproxen), anti-hypertensive drugs (ramipril, metoprolol, bendroflumethiazide), drugs treating impotence (sildenafil), gout medicine (allopurinol).

Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Amlokath L 5 mg/5 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Lowering blood pressure reduces chance of future heart attack & strokes.
It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
Do not take Amlokath L 5 mg/5 mg Tablet if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amlokath L 5 mg/5 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
