Amlokind-H Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It also helps to reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack. This medicine should be used along with a proper diet, salt restriction, and regular exercise for best results. It should be taken with or without food preferably in the morning, to avoid frequent urination at night. This medicine may cause dehydration, so it is better to take plenty of fluids. Inform doctor if you develop extreme thirst and muscle weakness. Some patients may develop swelling of ankle as a side effect of using this medicine.
Amlokind-H Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output.
Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist drug with distinctive pharmacokinetic characteristics which appear to be attributable to a high degree of ionisation. Following oral administration, bioavailability is 60 to 65% and plasma concentrations rise gradually to peak 6 to 8h after administration.
Absorption of hydrochlorothiazide is reduced in patients with congestive heart failure. Peak plasma concentrations are observed within 1 to 5 hours of dosing, and range from 70 to 490 ng/mL following oral doses of 12.5 to 100 mg.

Amlodipine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to amlodipine or its dosage form components. In addition, amlodipine is relatively contraindicated in patients with cardiogenic shock, severe aortic stenosis, unstable angina, severe hypotension, heart failure, and hepatic impairment.

Anuria, hypovolemia, renal disease, renal failure, renal impairment.

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Amlokind-H Tablet.

If you miss a dose of Amlokind-H Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

It may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and Inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, muscle weakness or very dry mouth.
Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood pressure, kidney function and the levels of salts such as potassium in your blood while you are taking this medicine.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amlokind-H Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
