Amlovas Tablet works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels, thus making it easier for the blood to pass through the blood vessels and lowers the blood pressure.

It also improves the blood and oxygen supply to heart muscle and relieves chest pain.

Following oral administration, amlodipine shows different pharmacokinetic (PK) characteristics (high oral bioavailability of 60%–65%, a longer time to Cmax [tmax] of 6–12 hours, and a longer t1/2 of 30–50 hours) compared to other dihydropyridine CCBs.
