It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Tazobactum is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Piperacillin against bacteria.
Within 30 min of infusion, piperacillin/tazobactam achieves 16-85% of plasma concentrations in skin, muscle, lung, gallbladder, and intestinal mucosa. Consuming alcohol with Amputum Injection does not cause any harmful side effects.
Amputum Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
It is used to treat various hospital-acquired and ventilator-associated pneumonia, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections (like diabetic foot infections) and uterine infections.
Amputum Injection: DURATAZ INJECTION 4.5GM may interact with anticoagulants (heparin), anti-cancer drugs (methotrexate), antibiotics (tobramycin, vancomycin), gout medicines (probenecid), and anaesthetic drugs (vecuronium).
