Andep 0.25mg Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It should be taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. Inform your doctor if you have any history of heart disease or stroke.
Vomiting, stomach pain, nausea and diarrhea are some of the common side effects that might be observed on taking this medicine. It may also cause dizziness, drowsiness or visual disturbances. Your doctor may regularly monitor your kidney function, liver function and levels of blood components, if you are taking this medicine for long-term treatment. Long term use may lead to serious complications such as stomach bleeding and kidney problems.
Apart from its analgesic effect, the medication is an antipyretic and spasmolytic agent. The mechanism responsible for the analgesic effect is a complex one, and most probably rests on the inhibition of a central cyclooxygenase-3 and activation of the opioidergic system and cannabinoid system.
Metamizole is a prodrug that is rapidly transformed into the main metabolite 4-methylaminoantipyrine (4-MAA) after oral and intravenous administration. 4-MAA is subsequently metabolized to 4-formylaminoantipyrine (4-FAA) and 4-aminoantipyrine (4-AA), which are acetylated to 4-acetylaminoantipyrine

Adults and adolescents of 15 years of age or older (> 53 kg) can take up to 1,000 mg metamizole as a single dose, which can be taken up to 4 times daily at intervals of 6–8 hours corresponding to a maximum daily dose of 4,000mg. A clear effect can be expected 30 to 60 minutes after oral administration.
Metamizole may increase the effect of anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs. It may interact with anti-hypertensive drugs causing low blood pressure. It may alter the effects of penicillin, sulfonamides, corticosteroids and anti-diabetes drugs.

If you miss a dose of Andep 0.25mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
