Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Both in combination helps in the formation of cartilage (the soft tissue that cushions the joints) and makes the joints lubricated for better movement and flexibility. DIACEREIN+GLUCOSAMINE relieves pain, thereby improving joint function and helping an individual restore his/her quality of life.

Pharmacokinets

Chondroitin sulfate is excreted in the urine as intact polymers and as partial degradation products. After intramuscular administration, about 37% of the administered dose is excreted by urine during the first 24 hours as high- and low-molecular-weight derivatives.

The pharmacokinetics characteristics of diacerein are about the same in young healthy volunteers and elderly people with normal renal function, both after a single dose (50 mg) or repeated doses (25 to 75 mg twice daily). Rhein kinetics after single oral doses of diacerein are linear in the range 50 to 200 mg.

Glucosamine was rapidly absorbed after oral administration and its pharmacokinetics were linear in the dose range 750-1,500 mg, but not at 3,000 mg, where the plasma concentration-time profiles were less than expected based on dose-proportionality.
