Mechanism Of Action

Cyproheptadine is an appetite-stimulant. It works by reducing the effect of a chemical messenger (serotonin) in the hypothalamus, a part of the brain which regulates appetite. Tricholine citrate is a bile acid binding agent which removes bile acids from the body.

Pharmacokinets

Pharmacokinetics. Cyproheptadine is well-absorbed following oral ingestion, with peak plasma levels occurring after 1 to 3 hours. Its terminal half-life when taken orally is approximately 8 hours.

CYPROHEPTADINE+TRICHOLINE is also prescribed for underweight children who have an inadequate dietary intake, loss of appetite, anaemia, liver or digestive disorder.
