Asalt 20mg Tablet is also used to prevent stomach ulcers and acidity that may be seen with the prolonged use of painkillers. It belongs to a class of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). This medicine should be taken one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning. The dose will depend on your underlying condition and how you respond to the medicine. Try to take it regularly at the same time each day as advised by your doctor. You should keep on taking it as prescribed even if your symptoms disappear quickly. You may be able to help improve your symptoms by eating smaller meals more often and avoiding caffeinated drinks like tea and coffee, and spicy or fatty foods.
This medicine's most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, flatulence, diarrhea, and stomach pain. These tend to be mild but talk to your doctor if they bother you or do not go away. The risk of side effects may increase the longer you take this medicine. Long-term use (more than 1 year) may increase your risk for bone fractures, especially with higher doses. The pharmacokinetics of rabeprazole are characterized by high and consistent bioavailability, dose proportionality, extensive hepatic metabolism, and primarily urinary excretion of these metabolites. In addition, rabeprazole does not accumulate with repeated dosing.

If you miss a dose of Asalt 20mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Avoid excessive intake of carbonated beverages/soft drinks, citrus juices, fried food, caffeinated beverages like tea and coffee.

Take an adequate amount of calcium in your diet or take the supplements as advised by your doctor to avoid any bone problems.

Asalt 20mg Tablet is used along with antibiotics for the treatment of H.Pylori infection. It works by decreasing stomach acid volume and decreasing breakdown and washout of antibiotics leading to an increased antibiotic concentration and tissue penetration. It also helps in symptomatic relief by decreasing associated acidity, reflux, and heartburn.

Yes, vitamin D can be taken along with Asalt 20mg Tablet. Vitamin D is generally advised to be taken as a supplement with Asalt 20mg Tablet as the long-term use of Asalt 20mg Tablet decreases the absorption of calcium and may lead to calcium deficiency. This can lead to osteoporosis (thinning of bones) and increase the risk of bone fractures like hip, wrist, and spine fractures. Please consult your doctor to know about ways to prevent this.

Long-term use of Asalt 20mg Tablet can lower magnesium levels in patients taking multiple daily doses for 3 months or longer. Get your magnesium levels checked at regular intervals. Tell your doctor if you experience seizures (fits), dizziness, abnormal or fast heartbeat, jitteriness, jerking movements or shaking (tremors), muscle weakness, spasms of the hands and feet, cramps, muscle aches.

Asalt 20mg Tablet should be used for as long as it has been prescribed by your doctor. Asalt 20mg Tablet is usually considered to be safe when taken in the recommended dose and duration. If Asalt 20mg Tablet is used for more than 3 months, certain long-term side effects may be seen. The most important of these is low magnesium levels in your blood, making you feel tired, confused, dizzy, shaky, or dizzy. You may also have muscle twitches or irregular heartbeat. If the use is further prolonged for more than a year, you may have an increased risk of bone fractures, stomach infections, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, osteoporosis, and vitamin B12 deficiency.
