Asthakind-DX Syrup Sugar Free is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. Asthakind DX Sugar Free Syrup 100 ml is a combination medicine belonging to a class of drugs called 'cough and cold preparations' primarily used to treat dry cough. Chlorpheniramine maleate works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions.
Phenylephrine is readily and completely absorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract after oral administration [1, 8]. It is subject to extensive presystemic metabolism in the gut wall and therefore has a systemic bioavailability of approximately 40% relative to intravenous dosing.
Chlorpheniramine has a serum half-life of approximately 20 hours in adults, and elimination from the body is primarily by metabolism to monodesmethyl and didesmethyl compounds. The half-life is increased in the presence of renal dysfunction and decreased in children.
Pharmacokinetics. Following oral administration, dextromethorphan is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, where it enters the bloodstream and crosses the blood–brain barrier.

Asthakind-DX SF syrup should not be consumed with or at least after two weeks of consuming certain medicines used to treat brain-related disorders such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine, selegiline etc.
Medicines used to treat infections (antibiotics) like linezolid and medicines used to relax the muscles like oxazepam & baclofen should not be taken along with this syrup.

If you miss a dose of Asthakind-DX Syrup Sugar Free, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

No, it is not advisable to breastfeed while using Asthakind-DX Syrup Sugar Free. This medicine contains Chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine, which can pass into the breast milk and may harm the baby. Inform your doctor that you are breastfeeding if you are advised to take this medicine.
