Athdom P 5 mg/250 mg Suspension is used to relieve migraine headaches and to treat nausea and vomiting associated with it. This medicine may also be used in ailments where fever is accompanied by vomiting.
Give $ to your child orally, preferably 30 minutes before meals. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by your doctor as that depends on your child’s clinical condition, body weight, and age. In case your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, let the child calm down, and then repeat the dose.
Athdom P 5 mg/250 mg Suspension should be given at the first sign of a migraine attack. If symptoms persist, further doses may be given but a gap of 4 hours must be maintained between each dose. However, never exceed the total dose that has been prescribed for a day.
Diarrhea, rash, restlessness, and drowsiness are some of the common yet temporary side effects of this medicine. Make sure to report to your child’s doctor if the side effects persist or become bothersome for your child.
Before giving this medicine to your child, let the doctor know if your child has had any previous episodes of medicine allergy, metabolic disorder, liver impairment, kidney malfunction, asthma, or blood disorder. Do not panic. Unless your doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it is almost the time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Children who are malnourished, suffering from a liver or kidney disease, heart disease, and electrolyte disturbances should remain cautious before taking Athdom P 5 mg/250 mg Suspension. Also, children on antipsychotic medicines and those who have a history of atopic allergies such as hay fever, eczema, or asthma should consult the doctor before consuming Athdom P 5 mg/250 mg Suspension. Q. What if I give an excess of Athdom P 5 mg/250 mg Suspension to my child by mistake?
Excess intake of Athdom P 5 mg/250 mg Suspension is dangerous as it contains paracetamol which can cause serious liver damage (hepatotoxicity) and CNS side effects. Never give more than the prescribed dose to your child as it will not give fast relief rather it would result in serious adverse effects and can worsen your child’s condition.
