Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Aurinorm 5 mg/2.5 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Chlordiazepoxide and Clidinium. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Pharmacokinets

Oral chlordiazepoxide is rapidly and completely absorbed, but intramuscular injection is painful and results in slow and erratic absorption. Multiple-dose therapy with chlordiazepoxide results in accumulation of the parent compound, as well as two or more of its active metabolites.
