Auxisoda-DS Tablet relieves irritation by producing carbon dioxide which neutralizes the acid present in the stomach. It also increases the pH of blood and urine, thereby correcting acid indigestion, heartburn. Additionally, it helps in the removal of toxic substances from the body in certain types of poisoning.Auxisoda-DS Tablet may be taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Excessive intake may cause electrolyte imbalance leading to unwanted side effects such as stomach cramps and flatulence. Keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.
Auxisoda DS Tablet is used as an antacid that helps in neutralizing stomach acid during indigestion and heartburn. It works by increasing the pH of your blood and urine, which corrects metabolic acidosis (high acid levels in your body).
After administration, intravenous sodium bicarbonate dissociates to form sodium (Na) and bicarbonate (HCO3). Bicarbonate anions can consume hydrogen ions (H) and subsequently convert to carbonic acid (H2CO3). Carbonic acid subsequently converts to water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2) for excretion from the lungs.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Auxisoda-DS Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Auxisoda-DS Tablet.
Auxisoda-DS Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Sodium bicarbonate is indicated in the treatment of metabolic acidosis which may occur in severe renal disease, uncontrolled diabetes, circulatory insufficiency due to shock or severe dehydration, extracorporeal circulation of blood, cardiac arrest and severe primary lactic acidosis.

If you miss a dose of Auxisoda-DS Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Q. Is Auxisoda-DS Tablet harmful?
Auxisoda-DS Tablet is safe if used as a medication and as prescribed by the doctor. However, excess of Auxisoda-DS Tablet can disturb the fine balance of electrolytes (like sodium, potassium, carbonate, etc.) that is needed by the body to function properly. As a result, it can cause unwanted side effects. Therefore, to avoid such disturbances, Auxisoda-DS Tablet is usually prescribed for maximum of 2 weeks when taken orally as taking it in excess can cause transient alkalosis, which can be harmful.
Q. What if I take excess of Auxisoda-DS Tablet?
Excess of Auxisoda-DS Tablet causes alkalosis (excessive blood alkalinity) which can be observed as mood changes, tiredness, slow breathing, muscle weakness and irregular heartbeat. Muscle hypertonicity, twitching and tetany may develop, especially in patients with low levels of calcium in blood.
