Avil Injection is given as an injection into veins or muscles under the supervision of a doctor. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have glaucoma or have asthma issues, or have high blood pressure. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, or breastfeeding. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Generally, it is advised to avoid alcohol while on treatment.
Pheniramine acts as an antagonist to allergic symptoms stemming from inappropriate histamine release to reduce edema, itching, and redness. The same antihistamine effect also produces sedation by acting in the central nervous system.
The amount of pheniramine excreted in the urine for up to 120 h varied between 5.7 and 11.6 mg and 10.2 and 13.2 mg after i.v. and oral administration respectively. Unlike the serum, considerable fractions of the drug occurred as metabolites in urine.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

It helps treat allergy-like runny nose, sneezing, congestion, itching, and watery eyes. It is also used to avoid or relieve motion sickness, nasal congestion, and allergic skin irritation.

If you miss a dose of Avil Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery as it may decrease alertness.
Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Avil Injection, as it may cause excessive sleepiness or drowsiness.

Q. Can I take paracetamol with Avil Injection?
Yes, paracetamol can be taken with Avil Injection. They are used together in conditions when the patient has a fever along with symptoms of allergy (like running nose, tearing of eyes etc).
Q. Can Avil Injection cause sleep?
Avil Injection has strong sleep-inducing effects. It is therefore not prescribed if a person is involved in any work that requires mental alertness.
Q. Can Avil Injection cause weight loss?
No, Avil Injection is not known to cause weight loss.
Q. Are Avil Injection and chlorpheniramine same?
No, Avil Injection and Chlorpheniramine are not same. They are similar in chemical structure and both are older antihistaminics. Avil Injection does not contain chlorine in it whereas Chlorpheniramine does. However, both are used in the treatment of allergic conditions.
