AZ3 100 Liquid is taken orally, preferably one hour before or 2 hours after a meal. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the return or worsening of the infection.

Azithromycin belongs to the class of drugs known as macrolide antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However, this medicine will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections. This medicine is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Pharmacokinets

The bioavailability of azithromycin is approximately 37%. Concomitant administration of oral azithromycin with food significantly decreases by 50% drug bioavailability. Following a single oral 500 mg dose, peak plasma concentrations of about 0.35-0.45 mg/l are attained within approximately 2 hours.

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with AZ3 100 Liquid.


Breast Feeding Related Information

AZ3 100 Liquid is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

There may be a possibility of diarrhea or rash in the baby.

Azithromycin is used to treat certain bacterial infections, such as bronchitis; pneumonia; sexually transmitted diseases (STD); and infections of the ears, lungs, sinuses, skin, throat, and reproductive organs.

Interactions

Azithromycin may interact with other medications a person is taking. For example, using azithromycin while taking nelfinavir, which is a drug that helps treat HIV, can increase the risk of liver abnormalities and hearing problems. Azithromycin can also increase the effects of blood thinners such as warfarin.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of AZ3 100 Liquid, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
