Aztreo 1gm Injection is given as a drip (intravenous infusion) or as an injection directly into a vein or a muscle under the supervision of a healthcare professional. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.Rash, vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea may be seen as the most common side effects. Temporary pain, swelling, and redness at the injection site may also occur at the injection site. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or if your condition does not improve despite treatment.

Mechanism Of Action

AZTREO INJECTION 1GM belongs to the class of monobactam antibiotics. It reduces the infection by inhibiting bacterial growth. It kills the bacteria by disrupting the formation of the cell wall.

Pharmacokinets

Aztreonam (AZM) is a monobactam antibiotic with a high level of activity against gram-negative micro-organisms, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. We evaluated AZM pharmacokinetics and pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic relationships in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) and healthy subjects.

Aztreonam injection is used to treat certain infections that are caused by bacteria, including respiratory tract (including pneumonia and bronchitis), urinary tract, blood, skin, gynecological, and abdominal (stomach area) infections, that are caused by bacteria.
