Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER can be taken with food. In general, you should try to use the smallest amount necessary to control your symptoms, for the shortest possible time. You should take this medicine regularly while you need it. Try not to miss doses as this will make the medicine less effective.
Some common side effects of this medicine include fatigue, weakness, drowsiness, and dizziness. If any of these side effects do not go away or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the symptoms.
To make sure it is safe for you, before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any medical conditions or disorders. You should also tell your doctor all the other medicines you are using or taking. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctors before using this medicine.
Baclofen in Bacfen Xl Er Capsule works by reducing or blocking the activity of certain nerves within a part of the brain that controls the contraction and relaxation of muscles, improving the movement of muscles and helping them relax.
Baclofen is eliminated largely in unchanged form. Within 72 hours, approximately 75% of the dose is excreted via the kidneys with about 5% of this amount as metabolites. The pharmacokinetics of baclofen in elderly patients are virtually the same as in patients below 65 years of age.

Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

Baclofen is indicated for the relief of spasticity of voluntary muscle resulting from such disorders as multiple sclerosis, other spinal lesions e.g. tumours of the spinal cord, syringomyelia, motor neurone disease, transverse myelitis, traumatic partial section of the cord.

If you miss a dose of Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER provides relief from rigidity, tension and stiffness in muscles (spasticity) that may occur due to various conditions affecting the nervous system.
Take it with or after food or a glass of milk.
Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER as it may cause excessive drowsiness.

Do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor if you've been on it for a long time.

Yes, Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER can cause sleepiness. It can make a person dizzy due to its sedative effect. It can also affect vision and therefore you should avoid driving and using heavy machinery until and unless you know how Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER affects you.

Though Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER is not approved to treat anxiety disorders, it has been observed in some studies that it is effective in treating stress which occurs after a trauma.

If you have a liver problem then you need to be cautious while taking Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER. This is because the medicine may increase the production of liver enzymes. Hence, regular laboratory examination of liver enzymes is required while taking this medicine as advised by your doctor.

Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER may cause side effects in patients with normal kidney function which include excessive day time urination (pollakiuria), burning sensation while urinating (dysuria), and loss of bladder control (urinary incontinence). Generally, a low dose of Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER is prescribed if a person has abnormally functioning kidneys or if a person is on dialysis.

Take Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER exactly as directed by your doctor. If a person experiences nausea while taking Bacfen XL 30 Capsule ER then it should be consumed with food or milk. However, for night cramps, it would be best to use the medicine at night time or 1 hour before doing specific tasks like physiotherapy or washing.
