Bactimycin 150mg Tablet should be taken by mouth on an empty stomach. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.
Commonly seen side effects seen with this medicine include nausea, vomiting, pain in the abdomen, and diarrhea. These are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. Consult your doctor if these side effects do not resolve or persist for a longer duration.
Inform your doctor if you have any previous history of allergy or heart problems before taking this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.
Bactimycin 150mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading.
Roxithromycin is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract producing peak levels (Cmax) within 2 h. The drug is eliminated with a half-life (T1/2) of about 10 h. Roxithromycin is not extensively metabolized. Approximately 53% is excreted in the faeces and about 10% of the dose is eliminated in urine.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Bactimycin 150mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Consuming alcohol with Bactimycin 150mg Tablet does not cause any harmful side effects.
Bactimycin 150mg Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

Roxithromycin is an antibiotic that is used to treat infections such as infections of the chest, tonsils, skin or genitals. It works by killing or stopping the growth of bacteria (bugs). Like all antibiotics, roxithromycin is not effective against infections caused by viruses.
ROXITHROMYCIN may have interaction with terfenadine, astemizole (used to treat allergy), cisapride (used to treat acidity), pimozide, thioridazine (used to treat psychosis), disopyramide (used to treat heart conditions), ergotamine, dihydroergotamine (used to treat migraine), midazolam (used to treat sleepiness), ciclosporin (used in organ transplantation), theophylline (used to treat asthma), dofetilide (used to treat irregular heartbeat) and warfarin (used to prevent blood clotting).
Do not chew, crush or break it. Bactimycin 150mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Bactimycin 150mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Take it 1 hour before or two hours after food.
Do not take antacids 2 hours before or after taking Bactimycin 150mg Tablet.
Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
Stop taking Bactimycin 150mg Tablet and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.
