Baxin 250 mg/250 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine. It is advised to take it as per the prescription. It can be taken with or without food, but it must be taken at a fixed time to ensure better efficacy. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The course of the treatment must be completed even if you feel better. Sudden discontinuation of the treatment may affect the potency of the medicine.
Some common side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, etc. If any of the side effects get aggravated, you must consult your doctor immediately. Baxin 250 mg/250 mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics, Ampicillin and Cloxacillin. These antibiotics work by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
In healthy adult humans are 28% of ampicillin and 38% of sulbactam protein bound. The colume of distribution of ampicillin/sulbactam is 0.22±0.04 and 0.30±0.12 L/kg, respectively. Both drugs have a plasma elimination t1/2 of approximately 1 hour, and >60% is primarily excreted unchanged by the kidneys in both cases.Cloxacillin is an antibiotic agent used for the treatment of beta-hemolytic streptococcal and pneumococcal infections as well as staphylococcal infections. A semi-synthetic penicillin antibiotic which is a chlorinated derivative of oxacillin.

Ampicillin + cloxacillin are used to treat respiratory tract infections, ear, nose and throat infections, pelvic infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and gastrointestinal infections.
AMPICILLIN+CLOXACILLIN may interact with sulphonamides, bacteriostatic drugs, combined oral contraceptives, drugs used to decrease uric acid (allopurinol), and pain killers (aspirin).
Do not chew, crush or break it. Baxin 250 mg/250 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

If you miss a dose of Baxin 250 mg/250 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Take it with food and plenty of fluids to avoid an upset stomach.
Stop taking Baxin 250 mg/250 mg Tablet and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.
