Salt Composition : Metformin(500mg)
Baymet 500 MG Tablet helps in insulin production, which in turn reduces the excess blood sugar levels in your body. It also helps in minimizing the risk of diabetes-associated complications such as blindness, kidney damage, stroke (decreased blood flow to your brain), and heart attack. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is necessary while taking this tablet.
The centre of metformin's mechanism of action is the alteration of the energy metabolism of the cell. Metformin exerts its prevailing, glucose-lowering effect by inhibiting hepatic gluconeogenesis and opposing the action of glucagon.
Metformin is rapidly distributed following absorption and does not bind to plasma proteins. No metabolites or conjugates of metformin have been identified. The absence of liver metabolism clearly differentiates the pharmacokinetics of metformin from that of other biguanides, such as phenformin.
