Beloc 40Mg Tablet Tr is used for the management of high blood pressure (hypertension), angina pectoris, pheochromocytoma, essential tremor, tetralogy of Fallot cyanotic spells, and arrhythmias (such as atrial fibrillation and flutter, A-V nodal re-entrant tachycardias, and catecholamine-induced arrhythmias).


It is also used in the prevention of myocardial infarction, migraine headache. Beloc 40Mg Tablet Tr is also helpful in treating the prevention of myocardial infarction, migraine headache.


This medication is a beta-blocking agent that attaches itself to the heart and inhibits the regular molecules from triggering the receptors. It blocks the beta-adrenergic receptors in the heart, thus slowing your heartbeat down and lowering the blood pressure. This lowers the stress placed on your heart, arteries, veins and blood vessels, decreasing the workload of the heart.

The pharmacokinetics of propranolol vary according to the route and duration of administration. After i.v. administration, the decline in drug concentrations is biphasic and the drug is cleared very efficiently by the liver, so that its elimination is dependent largely on liver blood flow

Indications

Propranolol is indicated to treat hypertension. Propranolol is also indicated to treat angina pectoris due to coronary atherosclerosis, atrial fibrillation, myocardial infarction, migraine, essential tremor, hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, pheochromocytoma, and proliferating infantile hemangioma

Interactions

Alpha blockers: Prazosin.

Anticholinergics: Scopolamine.

Other high blood pressure medications: Clonidine, acebutolol, nebivolol, digoxin, metoprolol.

Other heart medications: Quinidine, digoxin, verapamil.

Steroid medications: Prednisone.

Take at the same time each day. Tablets may be crushed and taken with liquids. Do not alter dietary intake of protein or carbohydrates without consulting prescriber
