Benidipine is a calcium channel blocker which relaxes blood vessels and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body by increasing the amount of urine produced.
Benidipine reached mean peak plasma concentrations of 1.04 and 3.85 ng/mL at 0.5 and 0.75 h after 4 and 8 mg doses, respectively. Peak cardiovascular effects were detected approximately 2 h after the administration of either dose.
Pharmacokinetics. Chlortalidone is slowly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after oral ingestion. It has a long half-life and therefore a prolonged diuretic action, which results in continued diuretic effects despite a skipped dose.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
