Betnovate-S Ointment should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Wash your hands before using this medicine. It is advised to check the label for directions before use. It is for external use only.Do not use this medicine more than the recommended dose. Inform your doctor if you have known allergies from this medicine. The common side effects of this medicine include burning, itching, irritation and redness at the application site.
Betametasone works by decreasing swelling, redness and itchiness at the site of application by blocking chemicals responsible for swelling, redness and itchiness. Salicylic acid works by removing and shedding dead cells from the top layer of skin by increasing skin moisture resulting in a decrease in scaling and dryness.
Betamethasone phosphate disappeared rapidly from plasma (mean half-life = 4.7 min) as betamethasone levels rose. Betamethasone plasma levels reached a peak 10-36 min after administration of the phosphate before declining in a biexponential manner. The terminal slow disposition phase had a mean half-life of 6.5 h.Salicylic acid works by causing the cells of the epidermis to slough off more readily, preventing pores from clogging up, and allowing room for new cell growth.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Hypersensitivity to Betnovate-S Ointment is a contraindication. In addition, Betnovate-S Ointment should not be used if you have the following conditions:

Betnovate-S Ointment may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Betnovate-S Ointment is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Betamethasone + Salicylic Acid is a combination of two medicines: Betamethasone and Salicylic Acid which treat eczema and psoriasis. Betamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.
BETAMETHASONE+SALICYLIC ACID is a dermatological medication that used to reduce swelling, itching redness and dead skin cells caused due to specific skin problems such as psoriasis (scales and itchy, dry patches) and eczema (itchy, cracked, swollen or rough skin).
Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the ointment.

If you miss a dose of Betnovate-S Ointment, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Betnovate-S Ointment is used to treat the redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with psoriasis and eczema.
It is advisable to apply it once a day. For best effect, leave it on during the day if you have applied it in the morning, or overnight if you have used it in the evening.
Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.
Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
If you are using a moisturizer along with this preparation, apply the moisturizer first. Then wait 10-15 minutes before applying Betnovate-S Ointment.
After you have applied Betnovate-S Ointment, remember to wash your hands (unless your hands are the treated area).
Do not apply this medicine to your face unless your doctor has asked you to. If you have been told to use it on your face, be careful not to get any preparation near your eyes, and do not use it for longer periods of time than you have been advised.
Do not apply it on open wounds and cuts.
Your skin may become more sensitive to sunlight than normal while you are using Betnovate-S Ointment. Try to avoid sitting out in the sun and do not use sunbeds.
Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of treatment.
