Bevocef Syrup is a prescription medicine. It is advised to take it as per the prescription. It can be taken with or without food, but it must be taken at a fixed time to ensure better efficacy. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The course of the treatment must be completed even if you feel better. Sudden discontinuation of the treatment may affect the potency of the medicine.
Bevocef Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Cefixime and Lactobacillus. Cefixime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Lactobacillus is a live micro-organism which restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.
Protein binding is 70 per cent. Cefixime is cleared, mainly unchanged, partly by the liver (60 per cent) and partly by the kidneys (40 per cent). The elimination half-life varies between 3 and 4 hours. Plasma concentrations increase linearly but not proportionally to doses.Lactobacillus species are probiotics ("good" bacteria) normally found in human digestive and urinary tracts. They can be consumed for diarrhea and "gut health." "Good" bacteria such as Lactobacillus can help the body break down food, absorb nutrients, and fight off "bad" organisms that might cause diseases.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Hypersensitivity to Bevocef Syrup is a contraindication. In addition, Bevocef Syrup should not be used if you have the following conditions:
Clostridium difficile infection
High fever
Hypersensitivity
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins
Pseudomembranous colitis
Seizure caused by drug
Severe intestinal infection

CEFIXIME+LACTOBACILLUS is used to treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, sinuses (sinusitis), throat (tonsillitis, pharyngitis), lungs (bronchitis, pneumonia), and urinary system (cystitis and kidney infections).
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Bevocef Syrup may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Bevocef Syrup may interact with the following drugs and products:

Carbamazepine
Immunosuppressants

Usually, Bevocef Syrup starts working soon after taking it. However, it may take some days to kill all the harmful bacteria and make you feel better.
Q. What if I don't get better after using Bevocef Syrup?
Inform your doctor if you don't feel better after finishing the full course of treatment. Also, inform him if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine.
Q. Can I stop taking Bevocef Syrup when I feel better?
No, do not stop taking Bevocef Syrup and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
