Bi Meningo Vaccine is recommended in children, adolescents, and adults to prevent invasive meningococcal disease. The use of this vaccine should be in accordance with official recommendations. It is given by a healthcare professional and should not be self-administered. It is important to receive all the doses of the vaccine to be effective.
Bi Meningo Vaccine contains Meningococcal Polysaccharide A & C Vaccine which helps develop immunity by initiating a mild infection. This type of infection does not cause illness but stimulates the body's immune system to produce antibodies (proteins) to protect against any future infections.
Meningococcal polysaccharide diphtheria conjugate vaccine is an active immunizing agent used to prevent infection by certain groups of meningococcal bacteria. The vaccine works by causing your body to produce its own protection (antibodies) against the bacteria.Lactose is a disaccharide consisting of galactose bound to glucose and is of key importance in animal life as the main source of calories from milk of all mammals, all except the sea lion. Intestinal absorption of lactose requires hydrolysis to its component monosaccharides by the brush-border enzyme lactase.

Hypersensitivity to Bi Meningo Vaccine is a contraindication. In addition, Bi Meningo Vaccine should not be used if you have the following conditions:

More than 25 mg of oral dose

Bi Meningo Vaccine is used to prevent meningococcal disease. It is recommended in regions of endemic infection, travelers to countries with epidemic meningococcal disease, or in people living in close contact with patients/carriers of Meningococcal Group A & C.
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Bi Meningo Vaccine may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Bi Meningo Vaccine may interact with the following drugs and products:
Alefacept
Altretamine
Leflunomide
Melphalan
Nelarabine
Ofatumumab
Rilonacept
Triamcinolone

Immunity is conferred for three years after administration of single dose of Bi Meningo Vaccine.

You can apply ice pack on the injection site if you experience pain and redness.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
