Bid LB 500mg/60mg Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Cefadroxil and Lactobacillus Acidophilus. Cefadroxil is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body.
Cefadroxil is almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. After doses of 500 mg and 1 g by mouth, peak plasma concentrations of about 16 and 30 micrograms/ml, respectively, are obtained after 1.5 to 2.0 hours.Lactobacillus acidophilus bacterial strains are normal colonizers of the bowel and work by inhibiting or decreasing the growth of harmful microorganisms in the gut by producing lactic acid.
