Biogem 1000mg Injection is given as an injection into a vein (intravenous), in cases where oral administration is not possible, such as in hospitalized or unconscious patients. It is administered by a healthcare professional. Kindly do not self-administer. Avoid skipping any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
Biogem 1000mg Injection is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.
The pharmacokinetics of gemifloxacin are approximately linear over the dose range from 40 mg to 640 mg. There was minimal accumulation of gemifloxacin following multiple oral doses up to 640 mg a day for 7 days (mean accumulation <20%).
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Biogem 1000mg Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Consuming alcohol with Biogem 1000mg Injection does not cause any harmful side effects.
Biogem 1000mg Injection should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.

Gemifloxacin is a quinolone antibacterial agent with a broad-spectrum activity that is used in the treatment of acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis and mild-to-moderate pneumonia. It is available in oral formulations.

Discontinue Biogem 1000mg Injection and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
Notify your doctor if you feel pain in your tendons, numbness, or tingling sensations.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
