Bisoheart AM 5mg / 2.5mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It is a combination of two medicines that effectively controls blood pressure when a single medication is not effective. It helps to lower high blood pressure and thus reduces the chances of future heart attack and stroke. It should be taken empty stomach preferably in the morning at a fixed time every day. This medicine should not be stopped abruptly as it may result in sudden increase of blood pressure. It should be used along with a proper diet, salt restriction, and regular exercise for best results. Some patients may develop swelling of ankle as a side effect of this medicine. It may also produce dizziness initially, but this improves with time.
Bisoheart AM 5mg / 2.5mg Tablet contains Amlodipine (calcium channel blocker) that acts by relaxing the blood vessels. This reduces the workload on the heart and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist drug with distinctive pharmacokinetic characteristics which appear to be attributable to a high degree of ionisation. Following oral administration, bioavailability is 60 to 65% and plasma concentrations rise gradually to peak 6 to 8h after administration.Bisoprolol exhibits a high absolute bioavailability (90%) because of its nearly complete absorption (greater than 90%) and small first-pass effect (10%). Bioavailability is independent of food intake. A long plasma-elimination half-life (10-11h) allows a once-a-day dose regimen.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
